I spent a lot of time thinking about whether to include this section or not. The last thing I want is for you to feel bad for "not helping enough" or to feel pressured into spending you hard earned money for some organization you have never heard of.

However, what I do want is to raise awareness for matters that are important to me and, in my eyes, important to everyone. I don't have enough money to donate as much as I wanted to, but maybe with this project I can reach enough people who may then have a positive impact, no matter in which way :-)

So everyone, please feel free to read, think and talk about these charitable causes and foundations that are important to me with your family and friends. And even better, find things that are important to you.

Below you find some projects I really like; may you be inspired :-)

Kindernothilfe

Children are the greatest gift humanity has to offer. If you want to change anything, you have to start by implementing this particular change: By raising children in the right way - Open minded, motivated, free of hatred and fear. I don't think I will ever find the right words to stress just how important the next generation, the one raised by you and me, will be and how much of an impact their ideas and beliefs will have on the world.

But why begin and end with raising my own children, when there are so many kids that do not have parents to raise them, who don't even have enough food or water. This is the point where this organization makes a difference. Right now is the perfect time to go on and read about this important topic and make up your mind :-)

UNICEF

Everyone has heard about UNICEF, I guess. But these particular projects I want to point out came to life to help children with disabilities everywhere around the globe. Since I have been working with children throughout my life, their well-being is very dear to me. Last year I worked with mentally and physically handicapped children at a school and was privileged to feel the joy and light-heartedness the kids brought into everybody's life. Yet not everywhere on the globe children, if handicapped or not, receive getting good education or even have suitable home and living conditions. If you want to change someone's life, think about helping others and soon you will recognize that you helped yourself as well :)

DKMS

DKMS is an international organization that was founded to give people hope after they have been diagnosed with blood cancer. You may register yourself to donate stem cells in case someone in need matches your DNA, or make a donation so the research can keep on going.

This is an important topic to me, since some family members and friends have been diagnosed with cancer. I can only imagine how many of you know someone or have heard of people who also got this diagnosis, or even have been diagnosed themselves. By registering you can make a crucial difference in someone else's life and maybe even extend it, and it is not even a big effort! So why hesitate, get involved :)
